The Ximatron™ is the most popular Radiotherapy Planning Simulator on the market today with an installed base approaching 1000 machines. Accuracy, reliability and ease of use have been the prime development initiatives throughout the years to develop a simulator that both supports simulation of palliative treatment to full 3D simulation.
A choice of generator capacity 80kW or 50kW is supported by the appropriate capability X Ray tubes. This enables the customer to choose the specific of generator to meet their needs. Control of the generator is integrated into one console that controls the machine movements. The high resolution CCD camera provides the highest quality images and supports ease of use and set up.
XimaVision is one of the Vision™ products that supports our customers in their aim to move to a filmless environment. XimaVision acquires the Ximatron positional parameters with an accurate corrected reference image, that can be manipulated for viewing and then used to create treatment fields possibly using an MLC.
XimaVision has many capabilities in terms of digital imaging including, Zoom, Measure, Comparison of images, application of processing filters, independent multiple viewing windows, full range of drawing and labelling tools, Cine acquisition mode, combine images, folder creation and many more features to support a filmless environment.
One of the hurdles to overcome in order to go filmless is the size of the image intensifier. Large images need to be acquired for certain techniques like mantles. Quad Image Merge automatically acquires 4 images and automatically merges them into one larger image. This image is then available for viewing and manipulation as any other image.
Several capabilities are available on the Ximatron and XimaVision to enable the best possible image to be acquired and saved as the reference image. One example of this is Single image pulsed fluoro. This is standard on the Ximatron EX models.
Simulation of MLC fields has not been possible until now. Using Exact Field Display any irregular field can be projected onto the patients skin during simulation, verified and then reference marks drawn.
