Carlos Villafane, CBET, CET is author of Biomedica, published in Spanish by BMET as an introduction to the field of biomedical and clinical engineering; the volume is now available in English.
Since the book's debut approximately seven months ago, Villafane had received many requests via email for an English translation. In response he has worked diligently to complete the new version (See www.dotmed.com/news/story/7925).
As with the Spanish version, the book is written from a student's perspective in easy-to-understand text and with more than 100 illustrations. The book covers the repair and maintenance of medical equipment and the importance of a healthcare facility's biomedical department. How to become certified is also documented.
The book can be purchased for $29.95 from Villafane's website at www.biomedtechnicians.com, and ordered through online bookstores such as Barnes and Noble (bn.com) using ISBN: 978161539663-4
