Failing to plan is planning to fail

Today I attended a meeting with 25 people who are all involved in an upgrade project. I was there representing DOTmed as we will be handling the auctioning of the surplus assets.

There were people there from IT, construction, HVAC, project management, finance, department managers from radiology and biomedical engineering, vendors supplying the new equipment and a rigging company.

The fellow in charge of the meeting kept things moving along nicely and kept us all on track.

There was a giant board showing the different weeks and the different projects going out almost 30 weeks.

Lots of people raise lots of concerns about things that could go wrong and all of those issues were incorporated into the discussion.

I have no doubt there will be follow-up after the meeting is over but in one short hour 25 people raised 30 different issues that need to be addressed.

It was an impressive meeting and I suspect that the project will go smoothly because of this meeting.
