The Shandon Cytospin 2 has been designed to give optimum results consistently and repeatedly, and prevent cell loss Cytospin 2 uses a unique sample chamber assembly which incorporates a plastic sample chamber, a filter card to act as a blotter, a microscope slide, and a unique stainless steel slide clip. This design ensures that optimum pressure is applied to form an effective seal which controls the rate of absorption.

The unique sealed head prevents aerosoling of potentially harmful specimens during spinning The instrument will operate only if the cover is locked. In the event of an interruption to the power supply, the cover will stay locked while the centrifuge is still rotating.

A steel shield, together with the polycarbonate cover, protects the operator in the event of rotor failure. The low-voltage, wipe-clean control panel is totally sealed from fluid penetration.

Cytospin 2 will not run unbalanced. Lid lock........overspeed.... out-of-balance alarms signify safety to you and your Cytospin 2.
