California Shaken, Not Stirred

Seasoned business travelers are well aware of the regional personalities of Americans and perhaps the stereotypes hold some truth. The stoic Yankees, ingenuous Midwesterners, and charming Southerners. The Californians have only reinforced their laid back reputation with this week's dismissive response to a 5.4 earthquake outside LA.

As we report in DOTmed Online News, out-of-towners were diving under tables, but the natives took it in all in stride and quickly went on with their business and lives. Certainly, it wasn't anything to be taken lightly and those who live in Southern California have special construction codes and emergency plans. But it's amazing how a serious seismic event can become a fact of life.

Stay safe and see you next week!
