Letter From the Editor

Going for Gold

If you thought the swimsuits were high-tech, wait till you read about the medical technologies deployed at the Beijing Olympics.

This week's DOTmed Online News reports on some OEMs that have contributed their technologies to the medical facilities for athletes.

In related news, participants are worried about air quality problems from local pollution at the games, but if anyone can muster the public will--or at least cooperation--to reduce emissions, China can. We shall see if the facemasks that some cyclists are wearing will be needed.

I can't wait to curl up and watch the action at this year's games which include more coverage on TV and online than all prior Olympiads combined.

Table tennis, anyone?

See you next week!
