Joint Resolution

I don't know about you but my knees are killing me. Years of existence are taking their toll, not to mention sports and prior surgery.

This week's DOTmed News reports that almost half of all U.S. adults will develop painful osteoarthritis of the knee by age 85. If you're obese, that ratio bumps up to two-thirds.

I can't tell you how many of my friends are in the process of getting their knees replaced or the process of avoiding it. Either way, many of us are likely to need some serious joint resolution at some point.

Another story this week out of Britain reveals that one in 75 patients needed a revision of their hip or knee replacements within three years.

I think I'll try to hang on to the original equipment as long as I can.

See you next week!
