Letter From the Editor

The Perfect Blender

Let me tell you about my new blender (and don't worry, this relates directly to medical equipment). It's made by Breville and, in addition to making great smoothies, it has an extraordinary feature: The power plug is shaped like a ring so you put your finger in to pull it from the socket. How simple and yet rare to have a device actually designed for its interface, the human hand.

I mention this because you can't help but wonder--why in the world aren't ALL power cords designed this way? Especially on medical equipment at the mercy of busy, and sometimes careless technicians.

Well evidently, someone else thought of that, too. A DOTmed user in Milwaukee, Alpha Source, now supplies this type of plug to the healthcare industry. Read about it in this week's DOTmed News and read our daily online report to learn about all sorts of innovations.

Now, let me tell you about my single cup coffee maker...

See you tomorrow.
