Letter From the Editor

What's in a Name?

In the President's press conference Wednesday night, he talked about "health insurance reform." What a clever thing to do.

Instead of health care reform, which is near and dear to our hearts, now we are focused merely on health insurance reform--a name that stirs the urge to cut bureaucracy, and squarely focuses on private and public insurers as the problem.

Next, in a mastery of what is not said, the President did not promise that reform would include a public insurance option, as he had in the past, leaving more latitude in lawmakers' hands.

Read about it in DOTmed News, along with important industry updates about medical technology.

See you tomorrow.
