Sunshine State Hosts the IEEE NSS Medical Imaging Conference

by Becky Jacoby, Reporter
A favorite spot for conferences, Orlando's Walt Disney World will host this year's IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium Medical Imaging Conference (NSS/MIC), October 25-31.

This integrated conference seeks to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and ideas in the areas of nuclear science and medical imaging among participants around the world.

Two pre-conference workshops are available: "Integrated Circuit Front Ends for Nuclear Pulse Processing" and "Nuclear Science for Security Applications." Additionally, workshops on special topics will be provided each day of the conference such as "Nuclear Technology in the Oil Well Logging Industry" and "Data Intensive Computing Beyond the LHC." Seven short program (day-long courses) will cover a range of current interests.

During the remainder of the conference, consider attending selected topical courses from a dearth of beginning and advanced offerings including:
- Photodetectors and Scintillation Detectors I
- Data Acqusition and Analysis Systems I
- Analog and Digital Circuits II
- Trigger and Front-end Systems II
- Gamma-Ray Imaging II
- Gasous Detectors III
- Image Reconstruction II
- PET/SPECT Instrumentation II
- And many more

Vendors with products related to the conference are invited to participate in the Industrial Program, an inclusion of technical seminars and exhibits. This is an opportunity for registered providers to showcase innovations. Though exhibit space is sold out for this year, notate calendars to be included for next year.

Check www.nss-mic.org for registration and additional information.
