IBA (Ion Beam Applications)

IBA Launches MaxiPRO

LOUVAIN-LA-NEUVE, Belgium--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IBA (Ion Beam Applications S.A.) announces today the launch of MaxiPRO Rental for Proton Therapy centers, which will enable significantly more hospitals and cancer centers to make Proton Therapy available for their cancer patients.

"Until now, the complexity of financing a Proton Therapy center and the delay between capital expenditures and revenue generation were major impediments for our customers that wanted to make Proton Therapy accessible for their patients", said Jean-Marc Andral, President of IBA Proton Therapy business. "With MaxiPRO, IBA proposes a "one stop shop" offering for a Proton Therapy center designed specifically for our clients' needs of size, configuration and affordability, that literally equates to "No Pay until Opening Day."

MaxiPRO is an all-inclusive rental offering that makes a fully operational Proteus Proton Therapy system available to qualified clients against a pre-determined monthly fee.

This fee may cover the Proteus system, its installation, ancillary systems, the building, and the operation and maintenance of the equipment, or any part of the above, over an agreed upon period of time.

By adopting this solution, IBA customers will be able to provide Proton Therapy to their patients:

* With one single partner.
* With greater facilitation and speed in the decision process.
* Without any payment before the center is operational.
* With a match between start of monthly fee payments and start of revenue generation.

"IBA has built its success on its leadership in technology innovation and operational excellence. We are proud to extend this leadership to financing, which facilitates the acquisition process for our clients even further, so that they can concentrate on the clinical aspects of the management of the PT center while IBA takes care of the rest. My hope is that MaxiPRO will accelerate access to Proton Therapy technology and hence make this highly precise cancer treatment available for more and more patients in the near future," says Pierre Mottet, Chief Executive Officer of IBA.

MaxiPRO Rental is one of several financial offerings that IBA makes available to its customers. Tailored, structured financing solutions are also available to meet any and all of IBA customers' needs.

Proton Therapy is an advanced alternative to X-ray radiation therapy for certain types of cancerous and non-cancerous tumors. Proton Therapy has excellent dose distribution, depositing the majority of its energy within a precisely controlled range, directly within the tumor, sparing surrounding healthy tissues. Higher doses can be delivered to the tumor without increasing the risk of side effects and long-term complications, improving outcomes and quality of life for patients.

About IBA

IBA develops and markets leading edge technologies, pharmaceuticals and tailor-made solutions for healthcare with a focus on cancer diagnosis and therapy. Leveraging its scientific expertise, IBA is also active in the field of industrial sterilization and ionization.

Listed on the pan-European stock exchange EURONEXT, IBA is included in the BelMid Index.
