DOTmed 100 Spotlight
Absolute Medical Equipment

Absolute Medical Equipment
specializes in new and used equipment from top manufacturers. Lines include EKGs, Holter monitors, stress test systems, patient monitors, ultrasound systems, fetal monitors, pulse oximeters, defibrillators, blood analyzers, bone densitometers, and other equipment.

The company has been around since 1999 but has flourished with its entrance into Internet sales, according to Marketing Director Abe Sokol.

"We have customers all over the world, although our main customers are private practice doctors in the United States," Sokol said. "But orders are increasing worldwide from Pakistan, UAE, European countries and all over the globe."

Stateside, the company has just invested in a new warehouse in Northern New Jersey to consolidate its $2 million inventory. "That's a big step for us. We bought our own building and are taking it to the next level," he said. The New York company has previously stored its inventory in three separate, smaller warehouses.

In addition to an impressive equipment stock, Sokol attributes the company's rapid growth in recent years to customer service.

"Communication with the customer will make or break the sale. "Often just speed of response to your e-mail will determine whether you get the business or not. You could have the nicest website and a great array of equipment but if you're not there for the customer when they call or e-mail, you won't get the business," he stressed. "Another very important thing is follow up after the sale. Occasionally customers will have issues to work out or will need accessories and you need to be there and answer inquiries to develop good customer relations."

DOTmed also has a seat at the strategy meetings at Absolute Medical Equipment. "DOTmed helps us out significantly. We try to post as much as we can on DOTmed as well as on our own website," Sokol added. "Dotmed is a very useful and set up very nicely. It's not too complicated. Another great thing about DOTmed is that equipment listed there will show up on Google searches because of link popularity."
