Novation LLC., one of the biggest U.S. group purchasing organizations, said Thursday it signed MRI scanner supply deals with six OEMs.
The Irving, Texas-based GPO awarded two-year agreements to Esaote, Hitachi Medical, GE Healthcare, Philips Healthcare, Siemens Medical and Toshiba America Medical Systems. The deals last from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2014, with an option for another two one-year extensions.
The agreements cover scanners, upgrades, accessories, refurbished equipment and service.

Last year, the health care organizations that work with Novation, VHA Inc., UHC, and Provista, LLC, used its contracts to buy $40 billion worth of goods and services.
