FDA Clears Vicorder

by Barbara Kram, Editor
Fall River, MA -- The FDA has granted 510 (k) marketing clearance for the Vicorder manufactured by Skidmore Medical. The Vicorder is a new USB driven vascular diagnostic system which utilizes proprietary software within a Windows operating system to provide Hospitals and Vascular labs a cost efficient method to diagnose peripheral vascular disease.

Robert B. Gaw President of PRN, Inc. announced the creation of PRN Vascular, Inc. to distribute the Vicorder throughout North and South America through an agreement with Skidmore Medical. PRN Vascular has brought together a team with over 75 years' experience in the peripheral vascular equipment market. Gaw expects a very strong demand for the smallest USB powered vascular device due to increased patient and physician awareness of peripheral vascular disease and stroke prevention. The Vicorder combines Doppler ultrasound, Photoplethysmography (PPG), and Pneumoplethysmography (PVR) to produce a full vascular report of a patients' vascular condition. PRNV is currently seeking representatives throughout the United States and North and South America. Physicians Resource Network, Inc. has distributed new and reconditioned medical equipment to physicians, hospitals, and international dealers for over 20 years.
