Mides' Success: Built on Service and Accessibilityby Astrid Fiano, Writer
Mides GmbH, in business since 1995, has its main office in Graz, Austria and other offices in Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, and Romania, as well as agents in Germany. General Manager Norbert Minarik says that the company deals in new and pre-owned ultrasound units (obtaining the equipment worldwide), and represents new Philips and Sonoace products in Austria, Mindray and Esaote in Croatia and other countries, specializing in laboratory equipment and bone densitometers. Mides offers both sales and service including a specialized probe repair lab for standard and TEE probes, the only service with a TEE probe repair lab in Europe. Mides also has seven showrooms with approximately 150 units on display. Mides carefully services and maintains the equipment with its own trained technicians and a large inventory of spare parts in stock. Mides has around 35 employees and an international customer base of hospitals, private medical practices and partner companies. Mides is always looking for new partner relationships to benefit from the market. Minarik, who has a background in work for Toshiba and Aloka, says that Mides' strength is in maintaining its seven locations, with the units on the floor for the customer to choose from. Keeping a large inventory and multiple locations assists the customer directly by being readily available to deliver immediate solutions, especially as customers are now taking advantage of falling prices in the market. One of the company's representatives, Sebastian Tautscher, is DOTmed Certified. For Minarik, being DOTmed certified shows customers that the company is working diligently for serious customer satisfaction in the market. The company also makes the most of DOTmed resources for contacts and new partners, Minarik says.
