Foresight Imaging has released its Version 2.2 TIMS DICOM System.

The TIMS DICOM System version 2.2 includes several new features that have been requested by the installed base of TIMS customers including audio recording and annotation, audio playback, audio recording to CD/DVD, file attachments, JPEG 2000 file import, export to BMP and PNG, DICOM send lists, study editing improvements, update patient information, study review improvements for speech pathology and other general workflow enhancements.

DOTmed spoke to Vice President of Sales and Marketing Tony Molinari who said, "We worked with our speech pathology customers to improve the editing workflow so that they can more quickly edit out unwanted sections of any video acquisition." He said that more playback modes were also added to fit different speech pathologists' preferred workflows. "All of this, combined with the inherent productivity savings of using TIMS for speech pathology over traditional VHS and DVD-video systems, significantly reduces the time to review and complete a speech pathology study," says Molinari.

The audio recording also allows customers to attach any voice-over recording or patient recording to a study and review it on the TIMS DICOM System or with the DICOM Viewer. The file attachments feature allows the attachment of any file such as a Word report or PDF order to any DICOM study.

"Version 2.2 is another step in the rapid advancement of the TIMS DICOM System," says Molinari. "We continue to listen to our customers in speech pathology, endoscopy, cardiac imaging and other disciplines."

About the TIMS DICOM System

Hospitals and imaging clinics around the world need to convert their non-DICOM medical modalities to DICOM. Upgrading or replacing these modalities is too expensive, often costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. PACS is a large enough expense in and of itself. Replacing all of the non-DICOM devices for PACS connectivity purposes is simply not cost-effective. The solution is the TIMS DICOM System. TIMS converts any non-DICOM medical modality to DICOM. The resulting digital study can be sent to PACS, recorded to CD/DVD/USB, and printed to film or paper. TIMS is available for a small fraction of the cost of a modality upgrade. Yes, TIMS can convert ANY medical modality to DICOM. This includes ultrasound, fluoroscopy, endoscopy, motion X-ray, angiography, nuclear medicine, MR, CT, and much more. TIMS captures both static images and streaming video at 30 frames per second, 15 frames per second, or at virtually any frame rate desired. TIMS even converts to DICOM the JPG, BMP, and AVI images generated in pathology, dermatology, and ophthalmology applications.
