GE HiSpeed Advantage rp scanner hardware stopped scan
March 06, 2008 12:19
We encounter kv fault detected: anode overcurrent and kv board tube spit counter = 603 on a ge hispeed advantage. It happens intermittently during scanning and most of the time at the 25th warm up scan. We've encountered this error before and we replaced the xray tube, however it is accompanied by a very obvious reason as we checked the stator resistance to dropped.
This lead us to replaced the tube. Now, with our present problem we measured the stator resistance of the tube and it was normal. We haven't yet replaced the tube because it's functional until now, only for some intermittent kv fault and anode overcurrent errors.
I am planning to replaced the igbt's on the ctvrc assy as part of the maintenance program and might as well to isolate the problem.

Dear Francis
I don`t think that your problem caused by IGBTs.
In most cases spit errors caused by X-Ray tube or HV Tank. You can determine it by no load check when the problem become persistant.

Thanks Tayfun, I think the problem really comes from the tube. Slice counter is at 150,000 plus. Until now, we haven't encountered the same errors. I'll keep in touch...

Francis,
This problem is the Xray tube. Your best option would be to have the tube reprocessed. If that is not an option, then perform a number of heat soak / seasoning runs to try to dissipate the gas inside the housing.

try to do kv loop back test...and you can easly determine problem side HV Tank or Tube ..
