Hi, I have a peculiar problem. The unit is not letting me scan on some coils; the only coils that I can scan are the regular Head coil, the knee coil and the body coil. Every other coil I can’t scan; it gives me an error that says “invalid coil connected” and on the error log the error is 2258107. I have try the SRI-3 and reloaded software and still same problem. Can anyone decode this error 2258107? I have also tail the “coilid.log” file and there I can see that whatever coil is connected is been recognized. Thank you for your input

Try scanning those other coils in GE Service mode. This won't solve the ID problem, but at least you should be able to find out if those coils are working properly. The coils you are describing are Transmit/receive coils and plug into the Head T/R port, that is if you are using the legacy style green colored connector. If you indeed have this green style connector on the system, then you may have a bent coil ID pin on your integrated pre-amp assembly, which is where you plug receive only coils into. If your coils are using the newer hypertronics style connector (A and B), then you should make sure that you run all diagnostics that you can to rule out the cross point switch.

Marco, Bruce and Leroy, I really appreciate your comments and help in this matter. This unit is an HDe using the new style LPCA with only port A connector, I have tested and checked the multicoil interface assembly and I have all the voltages and the preamps are also working, I swap the once use on head mode and tested the other preamps this way. I have run diagnostics on the Driver module and check to see if the unit is switching from head to body mode and it is. So the only thing left to try out is the 8 channel switch. The only way for me to test is by getting another one since I don't have the MCR III tool to test it. The only problem is that no vendor has this part at this time, only GE. Once again thank you for your help, any input is appreciated.

Ernesto, Leroy gave you a very good run down of where to look. Since the ID log shows the correct coil do not overlook the Crosspoint switch testing.
