MEDI-TRADE, founded in 1988, was the first company in Europe to broker used medical equipment, according to founder and owner Ruud Simons. "We were the first company in Europe to introduce a special database for pre-owned medical equipment," said Simons, who's worked in the medical equipment business since 1974. "This saves money for all parties involved, as there is no investment, and it keeps equipment in quality condition while in use and maintained until removal."

The company is the intermediary for special sales of selected overstocked Draeger products in many European countries and world markets. Examples include OxyTrend pulse oximeters and home care ventilators, inhalators, and humiliators, all sold under warranty.

MEDI-TRADE buys and sells all types of pre-owned /used medical equipment: ultrasound systems, CT scanners, MRI systems, bone densitometers, gamma cameras and other imaging equipment. An extensive network of over 2,000 worldwide contacts forms the basis of the business. "This network is used daily to match the need and availability of equipment as it becomes available from European hospitals," Simons noted. MEDI-TRADE fulfills European regulations and requirements. All the equipment has been maintained and serviced by official dealers and reps of the original manufacturers, and is checked and adjusted to specifications in Holland by qualified and trained technicians prior to shipment.

MEDI-TRADE can provide de-installations and re-installations for any size equipment such as CT scanners, MRI systems, gamma cameras, and X-ray rooms. The company's tagline suggests its high level of customer service: "Big enough to do the job, small enough to do it better."
