Brachytherapy Specialists, LLC Mobilizes GE Ultrasound
February 19, 2006
Atlanta, Ga. (PRWEB) -- Brachytherapy Specialists, LLC, a Georgia-based provider of therapeutic prostate cancer treatment in the Ambulatory Surgery Center setting is now providing mobile equipment for these procedures.
The principals of Brachytherapy Specialists have established and maintained numerous ASC prostate LDR brachytherapy programs in the last several years.
J. Randy Tibitts, President of Brachytherapy Specialists and past President of Prostate Centers of America,LLC comments: "We were the first to market on a national basis in the ASC setting for low-dose rate prostate brachytherapy with Prostate Centers of America. Having built strictly urology focused companies in the past, PCA was unprepared when entering the Radiation Oncology market, which we were unfamiliar with at the time. We relied heavily on an outside sales force that was largely focused on other things. We've learned from those experiences, expunged the issues we were dealing with in PCA and moved on. Brachytherapy Specialists, LLC takes us back to the core of what we do best, mobilizing clinical equipment and technologists."
"I think most will agree, we establish great 'clinical' Ambulatory Surgery Center LDR prostate brachytherapy programs. We found PCA mired in politics and a cumbersome and expensive business model. Brachytherapy Specialists moves us back to the clinical side of the procedure only."
Brachytherapy Specialists, LLC will provide state-of-the-art GE ultrasound and other equipment as well as brachytherapy trained technologists in the Ambulatory Surgery Center for LDR prostate Brachytherapy on a fee-for-service basis.
Initial projections are to establish mobile LDR units for ASC prostate brachytherapy in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama. Other areas/states will be evaluated as interest is expressed.
Consulting is also available for Radioactive Materials Handling Licensure, LDR Prostate Brachytherapy Policy and Procedure Manuals, and Radiation Safety Training and Manuals.
