Dutch electronics giant Royal Philips Electronics said Monday it bought privately held AllParts Medical, a third-party medical equipment parts vendor. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Philips said the buy bolsters its ambitions to grow its Multi-Vendor Services business and supply the imaging community with parts, service and technical support.
"The expertise of AllParts Medical expands our ability to provide tailored service offerings and to enhance the life-cycle management of our customers' imaging equipment,” Greg Sebasky, general manager with customer services for Philips Healthcare, said in a statement.
AllParts provides medical equipment, parts and training services, and was incorporated in 2006. Its 80,000-square-foot parts and testing center is located in Nashville, Tenn. The company has more than 30 employees, Philips said.
Philips said it had no plans to relocate the facilities.
Tom Kirkland, senior vice president, customer services of North America for Philips Healthcare, said the two companies had a previous "supplier/customer" relationship.
"We believe AllParts’ brand has significant value and will closely align with our third-party brand, Dunlee, an international leader in research, design, and manufacturing of high-performance replacement tubes for CT, vascular and general radiography," he told DOTmed News by e-mail.
