Carestream Health said it sold more than 2,500 of its DR wireless detectors worldwide, adding another 1,000 shipments since a
June orders announcement.
The DRX-1 system, first released in 2009, fits into a wall stand or Bucky and lets radiologists convert X-ray systems from computed radiography or film to digital radiography. Rochester, N.Y.-based Carestream said it was the first wireless DR detector the size of a standard cassette cleared by the Food and Drug Administration.
Carestream said it has six DRX-based systems, including mobile retrofit kits.
