GE Healthcare's patient monitors will now incorporate some of Covidien's measurement technologies, such as its Nellcor pulse oximetry devices, as part of a five-year collaboration between the two companies that they announced on Thursday.

GE's monitors, such as the Carescape B850 and B860 monitors, can now run Covidien technology, including BIS Brain Monitoring, which measures anesthetics' effect on the brain, the Nellcor respiratory portfolio, and Invos oximetry systems, the companies said.
