In Florence for IAMERS

I'm currently at the International Association of Medical Equipment Remarketers and Servicers (IAMERS) European meeting in Florence. The two-day event kicks off tonight with a dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel, but tomorrow we have a busy day ahead with discussions on the future of imaging, how to make contracts competitive and regulatory challenges we're all facing in Europe.

I'll tell you all about the meeting after it wraps up. In the meantime, I can say in informal meetings I have had there is optimism about the market in Europe and concern about the Chinese market.

On a lighter note, last night my wife Barbara and I had dinner at il Latini in Florence. I made a reservation after a friend in Rome recommended it.

We were told to arrive at 7:30 p.m. Our friend and colleague Mr. Wolf Zeller, who represents DOTmed in central Europe, joined us but when we showed up on a small side street we saw a large group of people milling around.

We found out that the place only opens at 7:30, so when the doors were unlocked we all had to take turns entering.

There was no menu. Our waiter Antonio gave us a few choices, but for the most part we all ate the same thing.

It was great fun and a great group.
