NMPI, Gainesville, Fla., is partnering with Maryland-based Mid-Atlantic Imaging Services Inc. to introduce a fleet of portable cardiac SPECT cameras next month. The lab on wheels will be unveiled September 15, 2006 at the southeastern chapter of the Society of Nuclear Medicine.

Using newly developed technology, this ground-breaking portable camera will be the first of its kind on the market. (The technology incorporates software by Segami Corporation.)

NMPI is proud to be the first mobile imaging company to bring these cameras straight into the offices of physicians throughout the state of Florida. By leasing the new portable cameras, primary care physicians will be able to provide in-office ancillary cardiac imaging services for their patients, eliminating the need to refer patients to physicians outside of the practice. This, in turn, allows for greater continuity of care for patients, which can dramatically increase positive health outcomes.

With the cost of operating a medical practice skyrocketing, physicians are under pressure to uncover new revenue streams. In-office ancillary cardiac imaging is the single most efficient and effective way practices can to add to their bottom lines, while significantly improving the quality of care offered to their patients.
