GE takes the high road

You may have read the story we wrote about a death in New York City that was somehow related to a GE gamma camera. I won't go into the facts about it in this blog post. You can read the initial story we wrote here. And in today's news, Loren Bonner, our online editor, posted an update to that story, which is more or less an announcement by GE Healthcare that they have decided to recall their nuclear medicine imaging systems.

I would like to point out that GE, on its own, initiated a recall of their products in order to make sure no one else gets injured.

Let's just say that many politicians deny that they tweet naked photos of themselves, engage in illegal behavior, or accept campaign contributions that they should not. So it's refreshing to me that one of our corporate citizens is dealing with a problem responsibly.

I think it's a great thing that GE isn't trying to spin this. They are just trying to do the right thing.
