12-X table-top computed radiography digitizer
Agfa HealthCare recently launched the CR 12-X, a table-top computed radiography digitizer. The system has a single slot for 14x17 inch (35 x 43 cm) cassettes. With the CR 12-X, the user can choose to adjust speed and resolution depending on the needs of the exam. Technologists can overwrite the default settings for each exam, depending on the specific speed/quality priorities. Agfa HealthCare’s MUSICA software is included in the implementation of CR 12-X, which automatically handles all image processing, independently of body part and dose. The CR 12-X is fully DICOM-compliant to easily integrate with other solution elements.

Ultrasound tables
Biodex Medical Systems has introduced a new generation of ultrasound tables that meet the concerns of today’s sonographer. The tables have enhanced ergonomics to make the scanning experience more comfortable for both sonographer and patient. These enhancements include:

Revolution CT scanner
GE Healthcare, its 510(k)-pending Revolution CT has captured a motion free image of the human heart in just one beat. Revolution CT enables the following advanced clinical exams:

The Revolution CT includes the 16 cm Gemstone Clarity detector for whole organ coverage, best-in-class spatial resolution at 230 microns for visualizing small anatomy, and a 0.28 second gantry designed and tested for up to 0.2 second rotation speed. Combined with SnapShot Freeze motion correction technology, the system delivers 24 msec effective temporal resolution.

Gadolinium and Cesium detectors
Early last month, FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. announced 510(k) clearance from the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of its Gadolinium and Cesium digital X-ray detectors for pediatric use.

Wireless Digital Radiography detector
Canon U.S.A., Inc introduced the new Canon CXDI-701C Wireless Digital Radiography detector. It features enhanced liquid intrusion protection, on-board battery charging, and impact detection and weighs only 7.3 pounds. The detector provides high-resolution images at a low dose as a result of a 125 micron pixel pitch.
