Ron Minor visits HCP

Ron Minor attended Health Connect Partner's 2014 Radiology & Imaging Conference this week in St. Louis, Mo.

Ron attends many industry trade shows -- sometime in exotic places -- on behalf of DOTmed.

Ron told me HCP was a positive experience this year. Providers seemed to be more receptive to buying than they have been in the past, which is hopefully a good sign of economic conditions in the U.S.

The current install base of radiology equipment is getting older and older because economic conditions have slowed the growth of sales. Even though there were not many orders placed at the show, according to Ron, the general sentiment was optimistic when it came to purchasing.

Ron also said there was an exciting after-hours event at the St. Louis City Museum. Ron and his wife, Lolly, enjoyed it very much. They also saw long time DOTmed User Bill Masters and former DOTmed employee, Colm Ford. Colm now works for the HCP organization.

As the founder of an Internet company, I can't help but sometimes wonder what the future of trade shows will be, but at end of day, there's no substitute for being able to shake hands with someone.

If you've visited my blog in the past, you know I believe that equipment has to become more commoditized so that health care delivery can be more efficient.
