MIRADA MEDICAL INTRODUCES STATE-OF-THE-ART DEFORMABLE IMAGE REGISTRATION (DIR) AT RADIOSURGERY SOCIETY MEETING

May 08, 2014
Denver, Colorado: The Radiosurgery Society is meeting this week in Minneapolis, MN to advance the standard of care for stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT). Experts in the field of radiosurgery will present research findings, discuss best practices and collaborate toward elevating the standard of care. Mirada Medical is presenting how its DIR algorithms and RTx software tools can improve the accuracy required in radiosurgery treatment planning.

"Mirada addresses clinical problems such as accurate target definition, automated delineation of critical structures and dose deformation for multiple modality treatment strategies," states Cristian Cotrutz, PhD of Swedish Cancer Institute in Seattle.

Mirada has been recognized worldwide for its leadership in DIR algorithm accuracy for more than a decade. As radiosurgery technology has increased in sophistication in recent years, Mirada has responded with a suite of software tools designed to support accurate target definition for SRS/SBRT.

Paul Meskell, VP at Mirada Medical adds, "We are delighted that our tools have aided the radiosurgery treatment planning process at elite institutions such as Swedish Cancer Institute, and look forward to introducing Mirada's technology to the radiosurgery community at this important meeting".

The latest innovations in Mirada's RTx radiotherapy software suite will be presented in Booth #2 during the annual SRS/SBRT meeting.
