Portable MyLab Gamma ultrasound system
Esaote received FDA Clearance for it MyLab Gamma laptop-sized ultrasound system with 3D/4D capability and a wide range of available probes.
MyLab Gamma can operate on battery power with fast boot times and rapid resume modes so it’s easy to transport and ready to use within seconds. The two onboard probe connectors can be expanded to four, with the optional cart, giving MyLab Gamma users access to a wide range of clinical utility and flexibility.
Celesteion PET/CT System
The FDA-cleared Celesteion from Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. combines high-performance PET and CT for all radiation and oncology imaging needs, including tumor detection, treatment evaluation and CT simulation scans.
Celesteion's numerous patient-friendly features include a bore of 90 cm CT and 88 cm PET — the industry’s largest bore. It also offers lesion detection with 450ps timing resolution and a 70cm PET and CT field-of-view, enhanced spatial resolution with 4mm PET crystals and 0.5mm CT detector elements and fast exam times with 20cm PET Z-axis coverage. Celesteion also comes standard with Toshiba's most advanced CT dose reduction technology, AIDR 3D, and conforms to the requirements of MITA's XR-29 Smart Dose Standard
Aero DR 10 x 12 Plate
Konica Minolta Medical Imaging recently announced that the Aero DR 10 x 12 wireless plate has received FDA clearance for sale. It easily integrates into existing Konica Minolta Medical Imaging systems. In addition to most standard digital imaging requirements, it can also be used for cross table, extremity, spine and sunrise patella views with a high tolerance to patient weight loading. The Aero DR 10 x 12 delivers a gentler imaging experience by providing greater dose efficiency compared to standard CR and GOS based imaging systems.
Bariatric gynaecology chair
Plinth 2000 has launched its Model 50G Bariatric Gynaecology Chair, with a 78cm seat cushion and backrest and substantial cot sides and arm supports, to accommodate even super-morbidly obese pregnant mothers in comfort and safety. Soon to be launched is an entirely new column-lift model, which will allow both Trendelenburg and Reverse Trendelenburg tilt actions, the latter mode additionally facilitating respiration in obese patients.
The chair has uprated electronic height adjustment, able to lift overweight and obese patients from its lowest working height of 56cm to its upper level of 104cm. There is also motorized backrest adjustment from 0° to 90° and electric Trendelenburg tilt operation. A control is supplied as standard, with the option of a hands-free footswitch. The chair automatically reclines to a fully horizontal position, for patient recovery in emergency situations.
ACUSON Freestyle Ultrasound System
Siemens announced the Release 3.5 of the ACUSON Freestyle ultrasound system – the world’s first ultrasound system with wireless transducers. The system utilizes Pixelformer image processing architecture. It covers a wide range of ultrasound imaging for diagnostic and procedural cases, including vascular, musculoskeletal, and nerve imaging. New enhanced needle visualization improves needle display during ultrasound-guided procedures. A new user interface offers a larger clinical image display, auto-hide of imaging parameters, preset display customization, and an up-to-60-second clip playback feature.
Release 3.5 of the ACUSON Freestyle system also introduces a mobile link app that connects the ultrasound system to a Microsoft Windows tablet on a shared wireless network to view, open, and share images and clips within the stored Patient Study List.
