Countdown to MEDICAL WORLD AMERICAS 2015
April 06, 2015
When the parent company of the world’s largest health care trade show moves into a new territory, people take notice. So the buzz surrounding the inaugural session of Medical World Americas (MWA) in Houston last year was palpable.
Now gearing up for its second annual session, MWA has more people than ever giving it serious consideration. Let us give you a sense of the size and scope, and of the business and clinical opportunities afforded by this unique event.
Bringing the MEDICA model to America
Messe Dusseldorf GmbH, famous for staging MEDICA in Dusseldorf, Germany every November, is the driving force behind MWA. With that kind of lineage, and with partners like the Texas Medical Center, Medical World Americas has a bright future.
Since MWA is modeled after MEDICA, that can mean only one thing — “think big.” Unlike most health care trade shows that specialize in a single niche such as cardiology or oncology, MWA will showcase important clinical and research breakthroughs that are revolutionizing medicine for some of the most common and costly medical conditions. Attendees will learn about how developments in genomics, big data, connected health and health policy are transforming their professions and the care and outcomes of their patients.
You can see and learn about products and services from across almost all hospital departments at this one event.
Continuing medical education credits
Physician and Nursing continuing education credits will be available for attendees at Medical World Americas 2015. (A minimum of nine credits will be available; the total number of approved credits to be determined).
Target Audience:
Primary care physicians, family practice physicians, cardiologists, neurologists, oncologists, nephrologists, endocrinologists, residents/ fellows, internists, nurses practitioners, nurses, hospitalists, physician assistants, administrators, and allied health professionals
Target Specialties:
Stroke, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, health policy, ethics
Power Partner:
The Texas Medical Center
The key to the long-term success of Medical World Americas is its strategic partnership with Texas Medical Center — the largest medical complex in the world — that has the unparalleled ability to deliver cutting-edge clinical content. Texas Medical Center CEO and MWA executive advisory committee chairman, Dr. Robert C. Robbins, stated, “I can say unequivocally that the level of education and the quality of our speakers will rival those that one would find at any major international conference. We will deliver a superior level of education and we have a topnotch roster of presenters to ensure that our content is cutting-edge.”
MWA — it’s like four shows in one, offering exceptional networking opportunities
For the upcoming 2015 conference and expo, MWA will collaborate with the three other partner organizations highlighted below that will hold their conferences simultaneously in the convention center. This gives their members the opportunity to network with all MWA attendees and attendees from the other groups, enabling everyone to learn about important new clinical, business and research breakthroughs that are helping to revolutionize medicine.
American College of Healthcare Executives SouthEastTexasChapter
American College of Healthcare Executives SoutheastTexasChapter (ACHE-SETC) will host its annual educational meeting at MWA and will integrate the conference into its programming by offering CME credits to attendees. ACHE is a national organization that is the premier professional society for health care executives dedicated to improving health care delivery. ACHE-SETC is one of the largest regional chapters with an average annual membership of 1,300 covering 29 counties in the Southeast Texas region.
“An event like Medical World Americas, in partnership with so many health care organizations, further establishes Houston as a global home of health care. We are excited to partner with MWA and offer this networking and educational opportunity to health care leaders and clinicians from across the region.” — Craig Cordola, president-elect of ACHE-SETC and CEO of Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.
Vendome Group
Vendome Group’s Healthcare Design Academy, which brings together the people, organizations and facilities that are setting new standards in health care design, will also host its members at MWA 2015.
“Bringing together Healthcare Design and Medical World Americas provides an opportunity for designers, architects and facility executives to network with clinicians and continue to forge the relationships that are critical to the success of patient-centered care.” — Mark Fried, president of Vendome Group.
Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management (AHRMM) – Texas
Gulf Coast Chapter
Adding to the diverse group of health care professionals at MWA 2015 will be the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter of the Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management (AHRMM). The Texas Chapter will host its members at the conference during MWA. As the premier organization for health care supply chain professionals, AHRMM strengthens the nation’s health care supply chain by providing leadership, education, networking, and industry-specific resources to advance the field.
“We believe that partnering with MWA will provide significant value to our members through continuing education sessions that address the changing health care supply chain environment. It’s a unique opportunity for local networking with health care peers and the supplier community.” — Anna Rouwhorst, president, Texas Gulf Coast Supply Chain Chapter of AHRMM.
