This coming Friday will be Yuko's (a Japanese intern) last day at DOTmed. She is going back to Japan to continue her education at the college. As you have seen, she has written some of the articles in Career Corner and in DOTmed News, and she has worked hard on writing them. Also, she has done some work on the Internet, researching the medical industry and educational opportunities to enhance DOTmed News. She liked how DOTmed members deal with their own projects because they work in their own style and at their own pace. She loved their unique characters, too.

She tried to taste various kinds of foods - American (of course!), Italian, Spanish, Mexican, Malaysian, Turkish, Chinese and so on! She also did many other things - swimming at the beach in Long Island, taking the ferry to see Statue of Liberty, walking across Brooklyn Bridge with beautiful Manhattan night view, going up to the top of Empire State Building to take a look at all of Manhattan, visiting World Trade Center to see what's going on 5 years after 9/11, and MORE!! Needless to say, she enjoyed everything and liked Empire State Building the most.

During her stay, she saw there were many differences between New York and Japan. She said, "To be honest, the subway in New York is more complicated than it is in Japan, but it is good because the subway runs 24 hours a day." And she also said, "Everything is BIG here, like buildings and people. And people in New York are liberal!"

It seems that she learned many things with us. She wishes to turn this experience in New York to advantage in her future. We all enjoyed working with Yuko here and hope she will never forget what she has done in the US! "Thank you," YUKO!
