SALT LAKE CITY, 4 August 2015 – Perseon Corporation (NASDAQ:PRSN) has launched a software upgrade for its industry- leading energy ablation product MicroThermX, aimed at simplifying the customer interface and enhancing the user experience. The upgrade was made available to all MicroThermX systems in service on June 16th of this year.

The software upgrade to the MicroThermX system provides: a reduction in the number of screens, ability to seamlessly continue to the next procedure without requiring system restart, and a shortcut to tract coagulate from the procedure screen. Additionally, the update provides improved graphics, an improved logical display and streamlined information. These advancements combine to provide an enhanced customer experience.

The new system saves treatment time for the physicians and patients, and streamlines use when it counts – during surgery to treat soft tissue ablations. Unlike other products, the upgrade to MicroThermX requires minimal training and speeds up user navigation by reducing the overall interaction with the machine, as well as by matching the physician's workflow.

MicroThermX is a one-of-a-kind energy ablation system providing balance between precise treatment control, flexibility and power. Due to the flexibility of the system, physicians use MicroThermX in open, laparoscopic, and percutaneous surgical procedures. The system consists of a single generator and amplifier that deliver microwave energy to single or multiple antenna(s). The new software update serves to further improve the system.
