Hi, have you ever been to any kinds of farmers markets? In New York City, many farmers come and open their booths in a park to sell their products cakes, cookies, breads, goat cheese, bottles of jam and honey, organic veggies and fruits, potted plants, herbs, cut flowers and much more. I really like to walk in a park and see what they have. It is very fun to communicate with farmers for getting interesting tips about each product.

Last weekend, I visited 2 parks to see the markets - one was in Union Square and the other was in Thompson Square Park. Union Square Greenmarket, the largest and most famous in NYC, is held Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays between 8a.m.to 6p.m. year around. We can see many autumn goods all over in this season, especially pumpkins since Halloween is coming soon. I thought that it might be fun to make jack-o-lanterns with them because there were many in different color, shape and size.

I just heard that there was a volunteer project at Union Square Park to ask farmers if they could provide their leftover products to poor people at the end of the day. Actually, I have never participated the project, but it seems a good opportunity to see behind the scene.

Anyway, if you would like to feel something seasonal, you may visit some farmers markets!
