CT Technology Breakthroughs Deliver Superior Image Resolution for Better Care
As a worldwide leader in CT technology with a commitment to image quality innovation, Toshiba is highlighting its latest features that improve resolution while keeping radiation dose as low as possible. Toshiba's Forward projected model-based Iterative Reconstruction SoluTion (FIRST), a clinically viable model-based iterative reconstruction technique, is now indicated for imaging of body parts, including cardiac and MSK. FIRST improves image quality with significant noise reduction while lowering radiation dose and drastically cutting the time needed for model-based CT image reconstruction. Toshiba will also showcase its efficient PUREViSION CT detector that results in 40 percent better light output for better use of X-ray photons. PUREViSION technology is available on the entire line of AquilionTM systems, the detector featuring 0.5 mm slices.



Premium CT Technology in a Cost-Effective System with Toshiba's Aquilion Lightning
Combining premium CT technology with the economic advantage of an entry-level system, Toshiba is showcasing its 16-detector row system. The AquilionTM Lightning is ideal for routine volumetric scanning and features the industry's thinnest slices, at 0.5 mm, a wide 78 cm bore and a small installation and cost footprint. With premium features found in high-end Aquilion scanners, including the PUREViSION Detector technology and AIDR 3D Enhanced dose reduction technology, the system ensures customers don't need to compromise quality to meet their business goals, while reducing their total cost of ownership and helping them to meet XR-29 compliance standards. In addition, the inclusion of Adaptive Diagnostics technologies, including Single Energy Metal Artifact Reduction (SEMARTM), and SURESubtractionTM means complex scans are simplified and outcomes are more consistent.

To advance clinical care for its customers, Toshiba's CelesteionTM PET/CT system delivers a more comfortable patient experience with the industry's largest bore at 90 cm, widest field-of-view at 70 cm and time-of-flight imaging. The versatile system combines high-performance PET and CT for all radiation and oncology imaging needs, including tumor detection, treatment evaluation and CT simulation. Ensuring patient safety is not a choice, the Celesteion comes standard with Toshiba's advanced CT dose reduction technology, AIDR 3D, and conforms to the requirements of MITA's XR-29 Smart Dose Standard. Toshiba's New MR System Offers Patient-Friendly Features and Efficient Exams
Helping healthcare providers diversify their MR imaging offerings and reduce their exam times, Toshiba will showcase its newest MR system at RSNA—the Vantage Titan™/cS Edition (pending 510k clearance). The 1.5T system offers a suite of innovative applications to help improve patient comfort and workflow. To ensure a positive patient experience, the system features a 71 cm bore, feet-first exams and Toshiba's exclusive Pianissimo™ noise-reduction technology. Helping clinicians increase workflow, Toshiba's Vitrea® Extend application permits clinicians to complete post-processing at a separate workstation, potentially allowing more patients to be scanned in the MR system. The system also offers an optional CardioLine+ application and SUREVOITM Cardiac technology to automatically detect anatomical landmarks for fast and accurate cardiac MR exams.

Toshiba Enhances its Vantage Titan 3T for Fast and Reproducible Neurological and MSK Imaging
Expanding the utility of MR imaging, Toshiba is introducing enhancements to its Vantage TitanTM 3T MR system to help clinicians improve the reproducibility and efficiency of neurological and MSK imaging. Toshiba's Saturn Gradient and Atlas SPEEDERTM coils have been upgraded to enable high-quality images of soft tissue and cartilage to help clinicians make diagnoses and provide rapid, effective treatment. These technology improvements help in neurological exams, which is particularly important with concussion and brain trauma cases. The system also accommodates a large range of clinical needs by pairing high quality images with a variety of patient-friendly features, including a 71-cm patient aperture and Toshiba's exclusive Pianissimo™ noise-reduction technology, among many others.

Toshiba's Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound Capabilities Provide Safer Exams and Help Improve Diagnostic Confidence
To expand the clinical utility of ultrasound, Toshiba will be showcasing its comprehensive contrast imaging package on the AplioTM 500 Platinum and Aplio 300 Platinum systems. Given the recent FDA approval of ultrasound contrast for characterizing liver lesions in adults and pediatrics, the Aplio Platinum Series' contrast-enhanced ultrasound capabilities allow clinicians to make more confident diagnoses and may help reduce the need for additional CT or MRI exams. The Aplio Platinum Series provides powerful clinical imaging tools for advanced visualization, quantification and intervention. This delivers a less expensive and safer diagnostic imaging option with no radiation.

Toshiba to Debut Live Scanning to Showcase Premium Ultrasound Technologies
Live ultrasound scanning will take place on the RSNA show floor for the first time this year and Toshiba will demonstrate the advanced capabilities of its premium ultrasound systems. Live abdominal, thyroid, MSK and vascular imaging will showcase the visualization benefits of technologies like Toshiba's Superb Micro-Vascular Imaging (SMI) and Shear Wave elastography. Toshiba will also reveal new and intuitive system ergonomics that will help boost productivity during daily routine and complex exams.

Toshiba Introduces New Double Sliding C-Arm for Fast 3D Imaging Anywhere
Offering interventional radiology labs an imaging system that provides clinicians flexibility to perform a wide array of procedures, Toshiba will introduce its newest C-arm at RSNA: the Infinix-iTM Sky+. The ceiling mounted system* features a double sliding C-arm that allows the C-arm to be positioned in more ways to help clinicians increase their coverage, speed and patient access. The new C-arm can deliver 3D imaging anywhere for high-quality exams with 210 degrees of anatomical coverage on both sides of the patient and a high speed 3D rotation of 80 degrees per second. The Infinix-i Sky+ also incorporates an extensive set of automated and user-selectable dose management tools designed to help clinicians minimize X-ray exposure to patients and clinicians.

Seamlessly integrating Interventional Radiology (IR) and CT technology into one solution, the Infinix™ 4D CT may help clinicians to improve visualization and workflow, and prioritize patient safety during an array of interventional procedures. The system's unique merging of the Infinix-i angiography system with the customer's choice of either the Aquilion™ ONE ViSION Edition CT or Aquilion PRIME CT allows clinicians to efficiently plan, treat and verify in a single clinical setting. The multipurpose system enhances clinical versatility by providing routine radiography, urology, orthopedic and routine angiography lab capabilities within an R&F room. As the industry's only tilting C-arm multipurpose system, the Ultimax-i FPD offers a small footprint while increasing space for the operator and helps clinicians to improve patient access and safety by working around the patient.
