Florida Emergency Physicians, P.A., (FEP) is one of the nation's largest privately held Group Practices of Emergency Medicine. Today, FEP provides medical services to more than 320,000 patients seen in eight (8) Emergency Departments located in the greater Orlando area.

The Practice is comprised of twenty three Emergency Physician shareholders, all of who are engaged "full-time" in the delivery of clinical services. FEP employs more than a hundred full-time emergency department physicians and emergency medicine experienced mid-level practitioners.

Educational Goals and Objectives
*Develop an organized and quick approach to recognizing acute coronary syndrome, properly interpret ECG's, initiate aggressive treatment modalities, and discuss controversies for patients with chest pain and arrhythmias.

*Organize priorities in the evaluation and treatment of the multi-trauma adult and pediatric patient, including appropriate and timely subspecialist consultation.

*Recognize common and missed orthopedic injuries, avoid diagnostic errors, and describe advanced management techniques including regional anesthesia and conscious sedation.

*Review advances in pediatric emergency resuscitation, infections, and difficult diagnosis.

*Review sedation, stabilization, and transfer preparations for the critical patient. Review appropriate medications and their risks.

*Discuss emerging viral infections, especially epidemiologic implications.
*Manage HIV infection, stroke and neurological emergencies according to the latest standards.

*Explain how our complex medical system and federal guidelines affect revenue management and pay for performance initiatives.

*Discuss common medical errors and avoidance, including errors commonly identified by the Florida Board of Medicine.

*Discuss gynecologic care of the adolescent with unusual bleeding or with trauma.

*Review the approach to disaster management at the hospital and EMS level.

*Florida Hospital is accredited by the Florida Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

*Florida Hospital designates this educational activity for a maximum of 33 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit (s) TM. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

*Approved by the American College of Emergency Physicians for 21 hours of ACEP Category I Credit

*Meets 1 hour of HIV/AIDS and 2 hours of Medical Errors Management for Florida Relicensure.

*This activity is pending CEU accreditation by the Nursing Board of Florida, through Florida Hospital.

Fees
The conference registration fee is $595 for physicians ; $325.00 for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants; $150.00 for Resident Physicians, Paramedics, Medical Students, and Nurses. Fee includes all course materials, breakfasts, and beverage breaks. The reception is complimentary. Single Day Fees are available: $250.00 per day for physicians.

The ACLS/BLS Recertification Fee is $250.00. The PALS Recertification Fee is: $250.00. Advance reservation is required, since space is limited and materials are sent ahead of time.
