Fees
Symposium registration fee is $695 for physicians and faculty; $655 for retired physicians; $595 for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other health-care professionals, and $440 for residents with a letter from their program director. This fee includes all course materials, certificates of attendance, refreshments, and four tickets for the Wednesday evening family banquet dinner and entertainment. Participants assume responsibility for living accommodations and all other meals.

A daily continental breakfast will be provided 30 minutes prior to the earliest session and will run through mid-morning.

Program Objectives
At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:

* Describe new approaches for screening, diagnosis, and management of clinical issues frequently seen by the family practitioner and primary care physician, including the following: asthma, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hepatitis B and C, and recto-sigmoid disease.

* Appraise current issues facing the family practitioner and primary care physician, including cancer treatment options, osteoporosis, palliative care and ethics, and thyroid disease.

* Identify changes and updates in rheumatology, cardiology, gynecology, gastroenterology, hematology, and nephrology.

* Describe new diagnosis and treatment strategies for cancer screening and allergy management.

* Describe the latest in immunizations for adults and children, update on ENT for primary care, and pharmacology A to Z.

* Identify appropriate primary care management and follow-up of patients being treated for congestive heart failure, allergies, and testosterone insufficiency.
