Apathy and the medical device tax

At the end of January the reprieve on the medical device Tax expires and the tax will go back into effect. This is a bad thing for our industry and for health care in general.

My question to you... Yes, YOU... is what are you going to do about it? Have you written to your Congress person?

If you have not, shame on you, but it is not too late. There is still time.

There are all sorts of tools on line to email your representative if you do not know how to.

In you need to freshen your memory on the medical device tax, you should read a story written by our reporter John Fischer, who discussed the subject with MITA's executive director, Patrick Hope, just a few days ago.

In that article you'll discover that the tax can be credited for the loss of nearly 29,000 jobs in the medical device industry and many more jobs could be lost if the tax remains in effect.

Please do not stick your head in the sand on this issue. If you are reading this you must be in the field and, if you are, don't just sit there and do nothing.
