Zinninger Appointed ACR Liaison to National Cancer Advisory Board

Reston, Va. -- Marie Zinninger has been appointed as the ACR's liaison to the National Cancer Advisory Board. Zinninger retired from the ACR last December following an extraordinary 25-year career, most recently as the associate executive director.
"This is an significant achievement for the ACR," says ACR Executive Director Harvey L. Neiman, M.D. "Marie Zinninger was an integral part of the ACR for many years and a key contributor to the advancement of women's health, specifically in the areas of mammography and breast cancer detection. The ACR is pleased that she will continue to represent the ACR and the entire radiology profession."
Zinninger begins serving her term immediately and is expected to attend the next NCAB meeting, scheduled for June. The NCAB is a presidentially appointed committee that advises and consults with the director of the National Institute of Health with regard to NIH activities, including the review and recommendation of support grants and cooperative agreements.
Zinninger holds a B.S. in nursing and an M.S. in maternal and child health nursing from the University of Cincinnati's College of Nursing and Health. Her professional accomplishments and commitment have earned her recognition from many of the leading organizations in the health care industry. She is an honorary fellow of the Society of Breast Imaging and a winner of the American Medical Association's Medical Executive Achievement Award. This year, Zinninger was named as an ACR honorary fellow.
The ACR is a national professional organization serving more than 32,000 radiologists, radiation oncologists, interventional radiologists and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of radiology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
