Aidoc, a startup manufacturer specializing in deep learning for radiology, has launched the world’s first full-body solution that applies artificial intelligence for CT scan analysis.
The Aidoc Full Body Solution applies AI to assist radiologists in identifying medical findings throughout the entire human body including the head, c-spine, chest and abdomen, extending the clinical value of AI in daily workloads with an imaging tool that that is not relatively specialized and limited in application.
“Radiologists are generally eager to adopt AI, yet often lack clear information about the various AI solutions' value propositions, performance and maturity level,” Elad Walach, the CEO of Aidoc, told HCB News. “In addition, most customers expect a seamless integration into their existing workflow. Having the experience and capabilities to seamlessly integrate technology into radiologists' workflow is one of the factors that distinguishes mature AI companies.”
The solution is an extension of Aidoc’s head and spine solution, which was just CE marked
in November as the first deep learning medical imaging solution for identifying abnormal findings in head and neck imaging, allowing radiologists to prioritize urgent cases with information directly stored in the PACS systems. It is also based on other solutions designed for chest and abdomen.
The workflow-integrated conception reduces the number of scans performed and enables radiologists to enhance their workflow. It is geared toward a variety of providers, including academic hospitals, rural hospitals, and private radiology groups.
Plans are currently in the works to extend the enterprise’s AI capabilities to other imaging modalities.
“Aidoc has begun developing AI solutions for MR and expects to release its MR beta later this year,” said Walach. “After comprehensively covering CT and MR, Aidoc will extend its AI coverage to the rest of the major modalities.”
The solution will be on display at ECR 2018 in Vienna from Feb. 28-March 4.
