Agfa highlights the DR 800 and Dynamic MUSICA for intelligent digital imaging at AHRA
July 19, 2018
Mortsel, Belgium /Greenville, SC - (AHRA 2018, Booth #1007) Agfa will display the new DR 800* multi-purpose digital imaging system with Dynamic MUSICAat AHRA 2018. Delivering radiography, fluoroscopy, advanced clinical applications and intelligent MUSICA image processing, the DR 800 supports Agfa's role as a value-based provider offering dynamic imaging solutions that enhance image quality, productivity and workflow.
Dynamic imaging from a multi-purpose solution
The DR 800 is much more than an X-ray room; it is a dynamic imaging solution designed to enable radiology to meet the growing demand for fluoroscopy, without requiring multiple investments. Robust and reliable, it can handle a full range of radiographic exams (skeletal, thorax, abdomen, weight bearing) and fluoroscopy exams (including barium studies, arthrograms, cystograms, myelography and catheter placement, etc.). The flexible, multi-purpose DR 800 thus supports enhanced image quality, productivity and workflow efficiency for the busy imaging environment.
Dynamic MUSICA for fluoroscopy images
Dynamic MUSICA processes both still (general radiography) and moving (fluoroscopy) images with the same, proven high image quality and efficient workflow. This intelligent, 'gold-standard' image processing software provides 'first time right' images, improving the imaging experience for patients and staff. It also adds better noise suppression, superb brightness and density stabilization to dynamic imaging studies.
Patient radiation dose reduction
The DR 800 integrates several technologies that support radiation dose optimization and reduction. LiveVision provides a first-person camera view of the patient, enabling precise, remote, radiation-free positioning. Advanced Cesium Iodide (CsI) detectors offer high-speed, high-resolution imaging and the potential for a lower dose1. The MUSICA image processing software also plays a role in reducing dose.
Patient and operator comfort
Patient and operator comfort are enhanced by the remote control and in-room control capability, the auto positioning and the 180-cm Source Imaging Distance (SID). Exposure control and digital imaging functionality are seamlessly integrated into an intuitive, efficient user interface.
"High-quality, intelligent imaging is essential for well-informed diagnosis and treatment decisions, and thus for value-based care," comments Jared K. Houk, Regional President Imaging Division of Agfa US Corp. "With the DR 800, we have used our experience and innovation to create a versatile, dynamic imaging solution that can be configured to match the user's specific needs. The DR 800 plays a key role in assuring optimum patient care, supporting radiology within the care continuum."
