OR tech soars during pandemic

CHICAGO, March 24, 2021 - ExplORer Surgical, the only comprehensive intraoperative case support and workflow platform, today announces a company milestone, onboarding more than 10 new medical device customers, including some of the largest global medtech companies as well as innovative startup companies including Prytime, in less than three months. ExplORer's technology is providing medical device companies around the world with a reliable way to communicate and proctor safe and efficient procedures with their physician and hospital customers, remotely.

On top of its customer updates, ExplORer has continued to add new vital features to its platform, including remote case proctoring, support and case observation, allowing the entire surgical team to receive step-by-step, role-specific digital procedure workflows and tailored instructions to increase preparedness and ensure better patient outcomes. The technology also supports telestration to streamline and amplify guidance virtually without disruption or distraction to workflow and efficiency. ExplORer offers robust features for zooming in and out on objects, procedural areas, and other elements that require better visibility, and screen sharing.

ExplORer's advisory board has also grown in recent months with appointments including Art Collins, former chairman and CEO of Medtronic; Dr. Hemal Gada, MD, MBA, president of the Heart and Vascular Institute and medical director of the Structural Heart Program at UPMC Pinnacle; and Dr. Vasili Karas, MD, MS, orthopaedic surgeon at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. Denis Harrington, former CEO of BridgePoint Medical and SVP of Sales at Boston Scientific, was also appointed to the company's Board of Directors.

ExplORer's platform is cloud-based and device agnostic, making it easily accessible on existing hardware in the OR, including mobile devices, desktop monitors, and TV screens. In addition to customized content for each team member in the OR, the platform collects data, allows staff to record timestamps and save annotated images, and creates actionable insights to improve inefficiencies. The company's customer success team customizes hardware kits to make set-up and video integration simple and easy to use.
