Omega Medical Imaging announces installation of first AI image-guided interventional endoscopy system in Hawai’i

July 29, 2021
Sanford, Florida (July 28, 2021) — Omega Medical Imaging, the leading innovator in AI image-guided interventional systems for hospitals and healthcare facilities around the world, announced the installation of the E-View.AI interventional endoscopy system at the Pali Momi Medical Center in Hawai’i. The E-View.AI represents the first AI image-guided system in the state of Hawai’i.

Pali Momi Medical Center is the leader in health care for the people of Central and West Oahu. Their mission is to create a healthier Hawai’i. For Pali Momi, the health and safety of their patients, their care providers, and their staff is a top priority. The Medical Center provides exceptional care and strives to continuously improve that care. Since its opening in 1989, Pali Momi has delivered many medical firsts for its patients.

Newest among those medical firsts is the first AI image-guided endoscopy system – the Omega E-View.AI. The E-View.AI provides leading-edge AI-enabled technology that dramatically reduces radiation exposure to patients and staff during endoscopic procedures. The Omega System offers several advantages that conventional fluoro systems cannot:

Reduces radiation exposure to patients and staff by up to ~84%
Delivers the highest level of image quality for the region of interest (ROI) while maintaining the full field of view (FOV)
AI technology automatically detects the physician’s ROI – allowing for hands-free operation
The only fluoro system specifically designed for ERCP and advanced endoscopy
“Gastrointestinal conditions can be complicated and challenging to diagnose,” said Dr. Aaron Small of Pali Momi. “Our goal is always better patient care and having state-of-the-art technology with the best imaging system – the first on the island – was important for us.”

The E-View.AI is specifically designed and engineered for image-guided endoscopic GI procedures. The System’s table and C-arm configuration are fully integrated and controlled from a single panel – enabling better patient positioning and visualization for the ROI for better procedure outcomes. The C-arm itself is designed to be swung away when not in use and an available mobile table – as used by Dr. Small and his team – allows for even more room flexibility.

“Omega is excited to be part of Pali Momi’s history of medical firsts,” said President and CEO of Omega Medical Imaging. “We share a mutual passion for the safety and well-being of everyone in the interventional lab. AI-guided ROI systems bring safety and superior imaging to the lab and that’s a win for everyone – the hospital, the doctors, and the patient.”
