Tripment Health adds over 160 diagnostic imaging centers via SimonMed partnership

Through a new partnership with SimonMed, Tripment Health has added more than 160 additional diagnostic imaging centers to its network of direct-pay services.
An online marketplace platform, Tripment Health connects self-paying and high-deductible insurance patients to providers who can offer them affordable healthcare. Spread out across 11 states, SimonMed’s centers offer CT, MR, X-ray, ultrasound and mammogram exams. With them, Tripment Health says it will be able to offer diagnostic imaging services to patients with transparent and discounted upfront prices.
This is especially helpful to uninsured and underinsured patients, which are growing in numbers across the U.S., according to Vlad Yushvah, co-founder and head of business development at Tripment Health. “When patients schedule services through us, they know the total costs upfront, which eliminates the stress of surprise medical bills down the road. SimonMed shares this vision of providing the highest quality of care at affordable prices, so together we can help patients schedule radiology services with the peace of mind that comes with price transparency,” he told HCB News.
The centers are spread out across Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Texas and Wisconsin. Through a self-onboarding portal on Tripment Health’s website, patients can view the different services offered at each center.
In addition to diagnostic imaging exams, Tripment Health offers primary care and mental health care as well as a full range of ancillary services. It also has a discount prescription program to help create affordable access to medications. The company offers its use for free, with patients only paying for the services they book.
According to its website, CT scans start at $180 and MRs begin at $350. Patients without a primary care physician can be referred for these and other services through Tripment, at the discretion of a healthcare provider.
Tripment was one of three defendants back in December, along with Sesame and Green Imaging, in a lawsuit filed by MDsave, a direct-to-consumer virtual marketplace for healthcare services. MDsave alleges that the three committed patent and trademark infringement by using information from its website to make it appear that they have contractual relationships and negotiated pricing with providers listed on it when, in many or most instances, they do not.
In an email to MHealthIntelligence, Tripment denied any wrongdoing. “Tripment Health has not been served a complaint by any third party and is not currently involved in any litigation with any third party. If and when we are served, we will review the complaint internally and with our counsel. As such, we have no comment at this time."
