Jefferson Radiology cuts MR scan time with image reconstruction

Jefferson Radiology, a leading radiology practice in Connecticut, is adding Air Recon DL to its GE HealthCare MR units to speed up exams and improve patient experience.
The deep learning image reconstruction technology is currently available at two locations, and is expected to be up and running at three more locations by the end of July.

AIR Recon DL received FDA approval in May of 2020.
"Conventional post processing-based approaches require trade-offs," Jason Polzin, GM of Applications and Workflow, told HCB News at that time. "AIR Recon DL is unique because it speeds up and improves nearly every exam type with no compromise."
AIR Recon DL uses raw data to reconstruct images and is equipped with a unique intelligent ringing suppression that preserves fine image details, thereby addressing noise and ringing. It also seamlessly integrates into clinical workflow to generate AIR Recon DL images in real time at the operator’s console, and has been tested on thousands of cases across a wide range of anatomies and patient demographics.
Jefferson Radiology provides diagnostic imaging and interventional services to patients at hospitals and outpatient centers in Connecticut and Massachusetts. Jefferson Radiology was acquired by MEDNAX in 2017, which was acquired by Radiology Partners in late 2020 for $885 million.
