Imaging Biometrics, a subsidiary of medical services and software provider IQ-AI, has struck a deal with GE HealthCare that will streamline the distribution of its quantitative imaging software to MR imaging providers across the U.S.

Imaging Biometrics’ IB Neuro and IB Delta T1 applications utilize MR brain imaging data as input to create quantitative, proprietary mapped images as output for assessing neurological and oncological findings.

These solutions will now be directly available for use at sites with access to GE HealthCare’s MR Smart Subscription, which provides up-to-date software and applications on scanners.

“It means that any hospital or imaging center that has a GEHC MR scanner and MR Smart Subscription will have access to IB’s solutions,” Trevor Brown, CEO of IQ-AI, said in a statement.

The announcement of the partnership on August 18 sent IQ-AI shares soaring over 25%, according to Proactive Investors UK.

The agreement includes scanners already installed and ones that are scheduled to be installed. Smart Subscription is powered by GE HealthCare’s Edison platform and standardizes capabilities and protocols across providers’ MR scanner fleets for consistent and streamlined image acquisition, processing, and reading workflows. It also offers flexible payment options for upfront payments or yearly subscription fees for financial and technology planning.

IB applications collect key physiological information, including regions of contrast enhancement (with no post-surgical blood products), and tumor blood volume and flow. They also can be used for CT imaging of patients who cannot undergo MR scans.

Imaging Biometrics is based in Wisconsin and was acquired by IQ-AI in March 2018.
