"Just point and shoot" is the secret behind Maquet's new PowerLED 500, a new generation of surgical lights developed by Maquet at its Innovation Center located in Orleans, France. Thanks to the optimization of LED technology, the PowerLED 500 generates more light with less power, requiring 30 percent less energy.

According to an analysis by the German Healthcare Export Group, Maquet's PowerLED 500 is packed with advanced features that offer surgeons superior comfort along with dynamic electric illumination control and automatic illumination management (AIM) which create extraordinary depth and volume visualization.

Warm-white LEDs ensure a constant lighting field and the necessary clarity of tissue perception--required in all difficult operations. Optimized heat management and the associated reduction in heat radiation also avoid drying out tissues while maintaining a pleasant climate in the operating room.

Other features include:
--Efficient and consistent light patch
--Warmlight LED coverage of the entire visible color spectrum
--Patented LED luminous flux management.
