MedInformatix expands footprint in Pacific Northwest
March 12, 2024
Los Angeles, CA – (March 11, 2024) RIS innovator MedInformatix has expanded its geographic footprint with a growing cadre of key radiology customers in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. Radiology providers on the MedInformatix technology platform, which includes a comprehensive RIS, billing, medical coding, and patient engagement solution, are providing a full range of imaging and diagnostic radiology services at more than 160 locations across Oregon and Washington State, stretching into Alaska.
“The Pacific Northwest is a dynamic region, and we are thrilled to partner with such an impressive and growing network of radiology providers in this area,” said Pat McGonigle, CEO of MedInformatix.
“MedInformatix customers in this part of the country are on the forefront of radiology healthcare, utilizing some of the most innovative diagnostic and enterprise technologies on the market.”
From an enterprise perspective, the MedInformatix RIS provides outpatient radiology practices incomparable levels of data access and workflow efficiency. Working in tandem with the company’s billing solution, and a companion computer-assisted coding suite offered by RadPayor, MedInformatix substantially increases practice productivity and profitability.
MedInformatix continues to develop new products to meet the evolving needs of today’s modern radiology practice. The company has launched an expansive mobile communication suite to help providers strengthen the relationship they have with their patients, giving patients more options of how, when and where they conduct many aspects of their radiology healthcare. The apps streamline the appointment scheduling, registration, check-in, authorization, and billing processes, and serve as an effective two-way communication tool to relay important pre-appointment and other information between provider and patient in the most convenient and secure way possible.
“Our mobile communication products have been embraced by our customers, and demonstrate our commitment to bring new technologies to the radiology marketplace,” said McGonigle. “Wherever the region, MedInformatix helps providers be more efficient and offer patients a better healthcare experience in today’s rapidly changing and competitive landscape.”
And analysts say the radiology landscape continues to expand. Research firm Fortune Business Insights predict the U.S. diagnostic imaging services market will grow from $130 billion in 2023 to $206 billion by 2030, at a compounded annual growth rate of almost seven percent. An increased prevalence of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases and cancer, as well as a rise in government regulations supporting reimbursement policies, are listed as driving demand for medical imaging procedures. The RIS portion of the industry is also on the rise. Future Market Insights says the global RIS market is contracting eight percent annually and should top a valuation of $2.2 billion over the next 8 years.
As demand for radiology services rises, so does the number of imaging centers.
Data from healthcare intelligence firm Definitive Healthcare shows there are almost 19,000 imaging centers in the United States today. From a regional perspective, the Pacific Northwest represent the fourth largest geographic region in the country. With more than 500 imaging centers located in Oregon and Washington State alone, these two states account for 85 percent of all centers in the region.
McGonigle says the growth his company is experiencing in the Pacific Northwest is indicative of what is occurring elsewhere across the country, where the MedInformatix technology platform is at work at outpatient radiology practices in more than 40 states. “It’s an exciting time to be a part of MedInformatix.”
