Capitol Imaging Services has expanded its reach into Georgia through the acquisition of Outpatient Imaging LLC, a network of nine diagnostic centers located in the greater Atlanta area and Statesboro.

The acquisition was made by Capitol Imaging’s parent company, Clearview Capital Fund IV L.P., a Stamford, Connecticut-based private equity fund. Capitol Imaging now operates 57 outpatient imaging centers across six Southeastern states, including Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.

Outpatient Imaging provides a range of services including MR, CT, ultrasound, mammography, and X-ray. The facilities are positioned to deliver diagnostic imaging in community-based settings with a focus on accessibility and cost efficiency — an approach aligned with Capitol Imaging’s broader strategy.

“Capitol Imaging is very excited to enter our sixth state in the Southeastern United States,” said John Stagg, CEO of Capitol Imaging. “We have known OPI for several years now and the great reputation they have in the greater Atlanta market and Statesboro. We hope to expand on that reputation and help grow the Georgia and Atlanta market even further to take care of our patients.”

Capitol Imaging partnered with Clearview Capital in 2020, at which time it operated 20 sites. The company has since added 37 locations, making it one of the more active consolidators in the Gulf South’s outpatient imaging sector.

“The Capitol Imaging team has done a fantastic job building the business into one of the largest outpatient imaging platforms in the Gulf South region,” said Geoff Faux, partner at Clearview Capital. “We think there is tremendous potential for additional expansion in the company’s current and adjacent markets.”

Clearview Capital said Capitol Imaging continues to seek further acquisition opportunities throughout the region.
