Since 1973, when DOTmed Certified user
Floyd Rowan started MEDX, Inc. the company has been a leading domestic and international provider of new, remanufactured and refurbished nuclear medicine equipment, accessories, software and parts. In fact, MEDX's Vice President helped develop and install the first gamma camera ever made. In addition, MEDX was the very first company to refurbish a gamma camera. They have to date shipped over 3,000 cameras and accessories to facilities all over the world.
MEDX sells refurbished and remanufactured GE, Philips, Siemens and Toshiba cameras often saving the savvy buyer 40 to 60% off OEM list prices, as well as their very own new T-Quest™ small field of view camera and their works-in-progress cardiac specific C-Quest™. MEDX's OEM factory-trained field service representatives provide an array of services on all purpose, SPECT, PET and PET/CT systems including camera installation and relocation, training, upgrades, accreditation, and detector burns and replacements.
In terms of service, each MEDX Certified® system goes through a strict refurbishing or remanufacturing process and is backed by a one year warranty. MEDX's Certified parts include a 120-day warranty and tech support by phone. The service contracts for MEDX equipment are provided by OEM factory-trained field service personnel who average over 15 years of experience, and are capable of performing the latest service offerings including detector burns and replacements. MEDX says its NuQuest® acquisition and processing workstation is continually developed to include customer feedback and increase ease of use and is compatible with almost every camera on the market today. And, to keep up to date with current technology, MEDX partners with universities and industry thought leaders.
MEDX is one of the few companies that refurbishes and remanufactures equipment in an FDA-registered facility and follows the Food & Drug Administration Good Manufacturing Practices regulations. This guarantees that every system goes through strict quality control guidelines, meets all regulatory guidelines and performs to OEM standards.
The service and parts businesses are providing steady growth and the MEDX says it expects this trend to continue. Camera system sales are also growing although were impacted by the Deficit Reduction Act. MEDX's customers, the company says, have indicated they are being very selective of equipment and vendors. Not only does the price need to fit their investment return models, but the warranty terms, field service response and applications support must exceed their expectations.
DOTmed has been a great tool for MEDX to find equipment, Certified dealers, equipment and parts. MEDX says the value of being DOTmed Certified, is in ensuring a code of ethics for those companies involved. A lot of effort goes into the purchase of a nuclear imaging system, so the customer expects each vendor to be 100% trustworthy.
